Welcome
I am pleased to welcome you to Brent Knoll Primary School. The school has been on this site in the village since 1861, though much of the present day building, behind the Victorian hall and entrance, dates from 2004.
The school has changed a lot since those early days; we currently have 175 children based within six classes and pre-school. Many of the staff, in contrast, have been here for many years and many are stalwarts of the village as well as the school.
In April 2019, the school became an academy and it is now part of the Wessex Learning Trust. As a result of belonging to the Trust, at the end of year 6, our children can access Hugh Sexey Middle School. We also have a very busy pre-school which offers places to children from the age of 2.
The school continues to work hard to achieve great outcomes for its children. Our Ofsted and SIAMS inspections have praised the good work that goes on, both academic and pastoral, but also gave ways of even further improvement.
Brent Knoll Primary School really is a close community where children and adults know and support each other incredibly well. If you are looking for an education where your child can ‘let their light shine’, but that also offers many opportunities that would be envied by other larger schools, please do come and visit. Please do call the school if you have any questions about admissions or what we do, and visits are always welcomed.
